Department Staff

The Pikeville Police Department consist of sworn and non sworn personnel. The department is made up of full-time sworn officers, part-time sworn officers, reserve sworn officers and non-sworn adminstrative personnel.

Full time sworn officers work rotating schedules to provide traffic enforcement, answer calls for service and handle all dispatch priority calls.

Part time sworn officers assist the department with shift coverage, work special assignments and assist in community events. These officers are primarly assigned to another agency in a full-time capacity.

Reserve sworn officers are members of the department whom have retired from the profession in a full time manner, switched to another profession or simply wish to retain their law enforcement certification. These officers assist in community events and work special assignments.

The rank structure of the department follows a paramilitary style structure lead by the Chief of Police. It is as follows:
