Friends of the Fur

Friends of the Fur is a community-based sponsorship program developed by the department in 2023. It serves as a non-profit program with a goal of providing financial assistance to the implementation and ongoing continuation of a dedicated K-9 program at the Pikeville Police Department. Through this program, sponsors make a yearly contribution of $350 on behalf of the business, family or individual to assist with sponsoring a canine. In turn the sponsor will receive the following:

• Quarterly updates with photographs and statistics of the program
• K9 demonstration priority
• Name Selection Assistance
• Department Challenge Coin
• Certificate of Appreciation
• Board of Commissioner’s Formal Recognition
• Annual Dinner & Banquet
• Tax Deductible Contribution

This program is managed and overseen by the Greater Pikeville Improvement Committee
