Garbage Collection Policies

Residential garbage is collected by NC Waste & Recycling every Friday.

The Town provides recycling services as a part of your garbage fee; a separate cart is provided for this service. Collection of recyclables is every other Friday.

Please have your carts at the curb on the Thursday evening before collection.

Please note that all bins must be put back at least 5 foot from the curb after pick-up. Not having your bins in the proper area after pick-up has occurred may result in a warning or more for chronic offenders from the Pikeville Police Department.

The following items will not be picked up by NC Waste & Recycling:

  1. Appliances and home furnishings.
  2. Tires.
  3. Yard waste.
    1. If yard waste is in a bin and NC Waste & Recycling Pick-Up can see it, they will not dump your cans. Please be mindful of this when reporting a missed can.
