Mission Statement

The mission statement of the Pikeville Police Department is to provide professional and courteous officers to proactively enforce the laws of this state through strategic enforcement efforts and involved community policing & education. An agency dedicated to providing a safe enviroment for citizens to work, travel and leisure within the confines of a progressing community focused on the future progress of its potential, living up to its name of "The Gem of Wayne County"!

We, the Pikeville Police Department, exist to serve all people within our jurisdiction with respect, fairness, and compassion.  We are committed to the prevention of crime and protection of life and property; the preservation of peace, order, and safety; the enforcement of laws and ordinances; and the safeguarding of constitutional guarantees.

With community service as our foundation, as we are driven by goals to enhance the quality of life, investigating problems as well as incidents, seeking solutions and fostering a sense of security in communities and individuals.  We nurture public trust by holding ourselves to the highest standards of performances and ethics.

To carry out our mission the Pikeville Police Department is dedicated to providing a quality work environment and development of its members through effective training, mentoring and leadership.
